Sessions Database Error
The Sessions extension has encountered a problem setting up its database. Please do not clear Safari's website data, as that will delete all extension data indiscriminately.
The majority of these cases that have been reported are due to a "DOM Exception 18" security error thrown by Safari. This appears to be the result of a longstanding bug in WebKit.
Try the following steps first:
- Check that Safari's Preferences window is closed on startup and, if relevant, that Private Browsing is disabled.
- Try disabling and then re-enabling Sessions in the Extensions Preference pane.
- If the above does not help, quit Safari and open the folder
~/Library/Safari/Databases/safari-extension_yoo.david.sessions-deub45nr9t_0/, where~is your home folder. - There should be exactly one file ending in ".db" present; remove it from this folder and place it elsewhere, such as your Desktop.
- Restarting Safari should then create a new, empty, but functioning database.
- Quit Safari once more and then move the old database back to its previous folder, renaming it to match the new database and thereby replacing it.
If the issue persists, please collect any relevant information and send an error report. I will try to help.
